Today was the snowiest event in England for ten years...

...so where was our snow? I feel cheated, we were promised at least 7" of snow and we didn't get a single flake =(

Today we finally got the plumber around to fix the leak from our water tank. It is much better now and he is coming back on Saturday to replace our broken tap. Aren't taps expensive? He managed to mend our other broken tap though, it just needed a thump. And we got him to check both the toilets to make sure that they were okay.

My mobile phone had a narrow escape this week. On Monday I dropped it into a glass of water (not sure how I managed that) and it was fully submerged. But luckily it seems to be okay now.

How to deal with a mobile phone that is dropped in water:

1) Shriek and call for help
2) Remove phone from water
3) Turn off phone and remove battery
4) Dry off battery and sim card, set aside
5) Dry off phone with tea towel, towel, paper towel, front of jumper etc.
6) Feel sad that brand new top of the range phone is probably broken
7) Put phone in a bowl of rice on the windowsill
8) Wait for a day
9) Wait for another day
10) Cross fingers
11) Replace battery and sim card and turn on phone
12) Anxious anticipation
13) Phone works! It's got a blurry screen though
14) Wait a few days for screen to come back to normal
15) All is well =)
